Grab your dragon, cricket, and your boombox because Disney is about to make a man out of you! After the recent success of their live-action version of Cinderella – and a frozen short – the great minds of Disney decided to make a live action version of their 1998 hit animated movie Mulan.

The animated movie follows a girl as she disguises herself as a man to take her father’s place as a warrior in the chinese army. There she becomes a tough warrior and one of China’s greatest hero. The movie is based on of Chinese legend of Hua Mulan.

While a date hasn’t been released yet, they will have Elizabeth Martin and Lauren Hynek writing the script while Chris Bender and J.C. Spink producing the movie.

There should really be no surprise with this announcement as Disney has been really hitting it out of the park with their live-action remakes. Their last three live-action remakes (Cinderella, Maleficent, and Alice in Wonderland – shocker on the last one, I know). Altogether so far, all three moves have made over a billion dollars in the box office.

Disney also has a live-action Beauty and the Beast coming out in 2017, sequel of Alice in Wonderland and The Jungle Book in 2016, plus a Tim Burton version of Dumbo, which is guaranteed to give us nightmares, in the plans. Disney is really pushing for more live-action movies, and I cannot wait to see them. Minus Dumbo because that sounds like a horrible dream and Alice in Wonderland sequel because the first one was enough torture for me.
