Katy tries to ‘Rise’

Like our girl Britney Spears, Katy Perry surprised fans on Thursday with the release of “Rise.” “Rise” is the theme for the 2016 Rio Olympics and it’s not a bad song. It’s not a great song though.

The song meaning is probably the best part of the song. But the beat of the song is okay. The song starts off rather loser and stays that way until the chorus. Then BAM! it’s came in like a wrecking ball and it just feels awkward. I get the point of having pick up beat at the chorus but just doesn’t work.

It’s not her best song but as Katy said, it’s not her lead off her new album so there is still hope for more like “Prism.”
