Don’t get me wrong, getting followers are important but it’s not the end of the world if your followers aren’t very high. We live in a day and age where people are afraid of commitments. Hitting the follow or like button, especially on a blog site, is committing yourself to that entity’s content. You shouldn’t stress yourself out if your follow count isn’t high. And I’m not talking twitter followers because that’s another conversation for another day. People are favoriting more than following. Or they are typing in your URL and going to your content that way because they haven’t cleared their browser history. ¬†People will do other methods to stick to content that they enjoy and like. If they really enjoy it, then they will share it with their friends. Just because you aren’t getting followers or likes isn’t the end of the world.

It’s all about engagement and views at first. If your content is getting views, then you are doing something right then. Eventually, the follows and the likes will come. In order for that to happen, people got to view your content and want to see more of it. Your content shouldn’t be affected towards whether or not you have followers. Sure, you should do things that are getting a lot of hits because that is something people like. But your content shouldn’t be depended on followers. Sure, if you put out a lot of content on a daily basis, your engagement and views will get better. But will it be the quality content? I could post every time there’s pop culture news, but it more than likely won’t be any good. I chose to put out one or two articles a day that is quality content rather than multiple articles that are shit. I like to think about it like this using “If you build it, they will come.” If you produce quality, they will come. It will take longer, but at least it is work that you can be proud of it and say its good.

Overall, just take your time and don’t stress out about followers. It will take time and don’t rush it. Just keep pushing out that quality stuff and they will come.
