Single Review: Iggy Azalea wants ‘Mo Bounce’

Everyone favorite Australian plant rapper, Iggy Azalea, has returned with the second single off of her upcoming second album “Digital Distortion,” if it ever decides to come out. Literally, we’ve been waiting a year for this album and it’s harder to find that an empty space on Beyoncé’s award shelf.

The single, “Mo Bounce,” is…..oh, where to start. Musically, the song is very nice to dance to and that’s probably the best part of the song because other that, the listening to the song made me want to beat my head off a wall. The lyrics ruined the song for me, which is why it’s going to be a hit single. The lyrics repeat over and over with little change over the course of the song. Here’s the lyrics for basically all the song:

Mo bounce, bounce, bounce, bounce
Bounce, bounce, bounce
Bounce in the motherfuckin’ house
Mo bounce in the motherfuckin’ house
Bounce, b-bounce, bounce, mo bounce

While I’m all for catchy lyrics, this is catchy but extremely annoying. It takes away from what the song is actually about – if the song is about anything, to begin with. Even when I looked at the lyrics, I couldn’t figure out what the actual point of the song. Here’s what I think the song is about, and this is stretching it: the song is about making that ass bounce around in the club. Oh, that’s a good quality song right there.

The music video doesn’t help try to figure out the lyrics because all it is asses bouncing everywhere. It’s pretty much the sister song to Nicki Minaj’s “Anaconda.”  Like, it’s probably the most ass-thetic video in 2017. Is this what music videos are about in 2017? Can we just stop twerking and making an actual good quality video?

Overall, the song has a catchy beat but the annoying lyrics will make ruin the song. It will be a hit song because of it. The video is also something that doesn’t add to the song.

Here’s the song for your listening pleasure….I’m sorry:
