It’s time again to get ready to head back to Litchfield! Today, Netflix released the first look and the opening scenes for the fifth season of “Orange is the New Black.”Now if you haven’t seen the last season, then this will contain some spoilers. You have been warned.

The clip starts off exactly where the season four left off – the prison riot and Daya holding a gun to officer as the rest cheer her on. We get a small bit of Piper and Alex saying they will keep their noses clean, that’s street talk for staying out of trouble. The walk away as more chaos ensues. The clip ends with a Daya telling everyone to remain quiet down and then a single gunshot. Holy shit! It was an intense two minutes.

While it was short, it really showed us that it’s going down this season. Last season wasn’t really as good as the ones before it. The final episodes of the season really made us want to know if Daya was going to shoot the guard or now. It also signaled a turn for the character, who wasn’t really like this way until events pushed her to a new attitude.

It also was nice to see Alex and Piper together again. They really keep each other out of trouble like some sort of twisted conscience. Also, they are a very good couple. They have a lot of chemistry and really help and care for each other. The clip really helped give a taste of what to expect while making us want more and to know what exactly happened when we heard the gunshot at the end of the clip. It was short, sweet, and to the point. It just would have been nice to have an actual trailer. An actual trailer would have been way better.

But we will have to wait until June 9th in order to see where exactly our favorite inmates are going. It will be a very long wait. sigh.
