“Story of A Heart” is a cover of a song written by ABBA’s Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus for Benny’s band. It’s extremely obvious that one of their song because of how it’s set up. It’s the ABBA formula that got the band famous. It’s an extremely well done song that is catchy and just will get stuck in your head. Irony in this is that Steps have been compared to ABBA for all of their career. The song fits them and is actually better than the original version in some regards.

The vocals on the song are mainly the girls with Lee featured in the background vocals. It really works for this song, mainly because all of the ABBA songs feature female lead vocals. Not one girl outshines the other in this song and it’s just really refreshing because it’s usually Claire that shines a little bit brighter due to her ability to park and bark. It’s also nice to clearly hear Lee in the background vocals.

The video itself is a love letter to their fans. It’s just them reminiscing about the last 20 years, mainly the good in the video. The video fits the song well. It’s takes a long song about a lover and turns it into about the fans. It even follows the original video for “One For Sorrow” by featuring the dance steps until the end of the song. It’s just a well produced music video that is better than one for “Scared of the Dark.”

“Story of a Heart” is an extremely well done song that fits the group to a T. There really isn’t any wrong with the video or the song. It was the highlight of the album and it’s still is. “Story of a Heart” is the perfect Steps song in this day and age.
