Demi Lovato and Christina Aguilera fight patriarchy in ‘Fall in Line’ video

Demi and Christina aren’t putting up with shit anymore.

After performing the song at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards, Christina Aguilera and Demi Lovato have blessed us with the video for their collaboration “Fall in Line.” The song was originally released last week to overwhelming reviews, mainly for Demi’s high note that will cause you to freak out.

Off of Christina’s upcoming album “Liberation,” “Fall In Line” is an anthem for female empowerment. The video for the song also portrays that. It features both Christina and Demi being captured and forced to perform in front of cameras for mask men. Towards the end of the video, both of them are able to sneak out and be free from the oppression.

The video feels like “Confident 2.0.” In case you forgot, here my review of Demi’s video, Demi was a secret agent hired by a man to take down another female agent. Both eventually turned on him and took their benefactor out. This video had a similar feel to it. Especially towards the end when both Christina and Demi were being extremely sneaky to leave the compound. This video is also a reminder that you shouldn’t mess with Demi. It’s easy to forget that she likes Mixed Martial Arts and that she could even make Nick Jonas cry for his mommy. You’re welcome for that imagery.

It looks me a long time to like “Fall in Line.” It’s definitely better than “Accelerate.” Of course, anything is better than that. I still have nightmare from it. “Fall in Line” is certifiable bop. The video tells a story but could have been better. But it does make the song better than without it.
