Has anyone seen my wig? Because it has blown off
Just when you thought 2018 couldn’t get any worse, the goddess Cher came down from the heavens and have kissed the world with the release of her newest single and a date for her newest album. That’s right, we have a new Cher song.
Cher announced that she would be releasing an ABBA cover album when she was doing press for “Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again.” The Goddess of Pop and Twitter has teased us for weeks with the track list and teasers for what would be the first song off of the album, entitled “Dancing Queen.” Last Wednesday, we were given “Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! A Man After Midnight.”
Cher’s version of “Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!” is the best combination of Cher and ABBA that one could ever imagine. It still follows everything that made the original song such a great song. Cher adds a bit of her own charm and style to it. The song sounds like it was ripped out of the same era as Cher’s “Believe.” She made using autotune famously and she is the only one that is able to use and now sound like a total douche.
Overall, it’s an extremely well down song but I wouldn’t expect anything less from Cher. I mean, c’mon IT’S CHER! I cannot wait to see what else she has done with the other ABBA songs that she covered. Personally, I’m looking forward to hearing “The Winner Takes it All.” I love me a good Cher ballad.
Cher’s album “Dancing Queen” is available for pre-order and will be out on September 28th.
