Whats The App is this? Whisper

Welcome to the latest edition of “Whats The App is.” This where I tell you about apps that you  don’t know anything about in order to get you into the hip crowd. Or if you are a parent, I give you a reason to creep on your child’s phone. On this edition, I’ll be telling you the app “Whisper.” And no, it’s not a pornstar’s app.

“Whisper” is an app that allows users to post things anonymous with pictures, and have conversions anonymously as well. So it’s away for people to spill their guts on things and their identity protected. Think of it as a confessional booth at a church but instead of a religious figure, it’s a person you don’t even know that may or may not be judging you.

The app let users see what others are posting near them by using their location. You can also see post based on your school or group. The bad part about this is that it doesn’t ask for a school email address so literally anyone can look at what’s getting posted and post into the group.

This is probably one of the safest anonymous app due to its extensive privacy policy. Whisper has no tolerance for cyber bullying and allows other people to report or block users. Each user has a username and pin code in order to access their account. So if “Titan444” send a dick pic to “LovelyLoins,” they can block and report the user. Sure, they can create a totally new account, but it’s hard to find that person. Whisper has 30 million users. It’s like finding a needle in a huge ass haystack.

A lot of the post on the app are hilarious and have made their rounds through social media. People find the app appealing because of this. They also like the fact that it’s all anonymous and it let’s them freely say and be them without having to worry about backlash from the people they know. It also let’s them talk to people experiencing the same issues that they are.

This is the app known as “Whisper.” So if you find this app in your child’s phone, it’s slightly less harmful than Facebook. You should only be worried if “whisper” ends up in their search history. Then, you should probably have a conversation.

Run, Mario, Run!

mario-sm

It’s been almost a month since Nintendo debut the app “Super Mario Run” on all iOS devices and it’s time to finally put down my feeling and views on it. So let’s run deep into the first mobile game that the Japanese gaming empire has made.

“Super Mario Run” is your average Mario game just simplified due to how much space is on a phone compared to an actual gaming system. It’s also the same story that you would expect because the storyline is decades old. Princess Peach can apparently do more than get kidnapped and baked a cake. She invited Mario to come get a piece, which is code for she was a thirsty. So Mario runs because he’s so excited to taste her “cake” and the dumb bitch ends up getting kidnapped by Browser, who is obsessed with her. This is all happening in the tutorial by the way. At the end of the tutorial, Browser blows up the kingdom and ends up sending all of Mario’s help somewhere that wasn’t explained.

The goal of the game to rebuild the kingdom, bring all the mushroom people back as well as Mario’s brother Luigi, and to save the goddamn princess. There is two different modes: Tour and Toad Rally.

Tour Mode is where the game is familiar. You play through all the levels, first three are free, and make your way through to save the Peach. There are six worlds with the goal of each level to is to collect the 15 colored coins, which you have to get in groups of five. The only benefit to this, besides it’s the most fun, is that all the levels you pass go into Toad Rally and you can play as the bitch that can fight off Link in Smash Bros. but can’t stop Browser from kidnapping her ass.

mobile_supermariorun_ipadpro_screenshot-only_05Toad Rally is where you collect mushroom people as fans by beating other from all aroundthe world in a race to collect coins. The more mushroom people you collect, you unlock the other three characters (which Browser isn’t one of them!) and level up your Kingdom. Oh yeah, you can purchase things to make your Kingdom unique. You can by mushroom homes, poles for the mushroom to play on and no, I’m not making that up.Sure it’s a flag pole, but you can’t keep those mushroom off the pole.

The game is a very fun game, it just gets boring after a while. There’s nothing there to keep you playing once you save Peach. Sure, you can collect colored coins and unlock special levels when you collect them all, but that’s rather difficult sometimes and it’s annoying. The Toad Rally is fun to a point but then all the levels are all the same. Literally, there are times when you will play the same level back to back.

The idea is there and it’s a fun game when you are bored but other than that, it’s not really that fun. The fact that Browser isn’t a playable character but a newly introduced character is hurts the game. I don’t play as the female toad and mainly play as Luigi because let’s be real-he’s the true badass of the game. “Super Mario Run” is reminiscent of Super Mario Bros. 2: The North American Release, which wasn’t a very fun game. Overall, the game is suffers from lack of content that keeps people coming back.

Mobile Game Review: Let’s do some crack!

Trivia Crack

Have you ever had just wanted to do a bunch of crack for a day just to see what is like? Well, if you are then we have a game-and a counselor-for you!

Game is called “Trivia Crack” and it’s pretty much like the board game “Trivial Pursuit.” For those who don’t know what “Trivial Pursuit” is, it’s a game where you answer questions and get little triangles for answer the questions right. When you collect all of them, you win the game. This is the premise of “Trivia Crack.”

It’s gets very addicting because you play until you get one long. After 3 wins, you get a chance to challenge or play for an icon in a category. If you challenge, you allow your opponent to play for the piece it and put up some of your pieces as a wager. So this game creates a gambling addicting and a drug addiction all in one.

To top it all off, it also has lifelines like “Who Wants to be a Millionaire” minus Regis Phillbin (old school Millionaire not the crappy Syndication version).

What’s not working for this game? There is no staying power for this game. It will soon become like Words Like Friends, and games like that.

Overall, the game is a fun game to play. It tests your knowledge and it creates a friendly competition.

Candy Crush ruins lives

candycrush

Are you in need of a new game to play on your phone while you are using the restroom? Are you looking for game that’s even more addicting than Angry Birds? Well we have a game for you! The game is called Candy Crush Saga, as you can tell by the banner that you see above this paragraph and with the link you clicked.

The game is like bejeweled but instead of having the players match items that represent greed, they have players match items that represent gluttony. In order to pass levels you must complete a series of obstacles like moving fruit down the board, getting rid of chocolate that reproduces faster than bunnies.

Be prepared to lose many hours to this game because you can play this game on Facebook (hence why it’s more addicting than Angry Birds). You can pretty much use your computer to play this game when you run out of lives on your mobile device. The game ruins lives because it just takes over your life…you start to look at candy in a different way after this.
