Video Review: Selena Gomez reveals her fetishes in video for ‘Fetish’

fetish-sm

We should have expected this once Selena Gomez released a song called “Fetish.” Seleners dropped the video for the song and for the first time in a long time, she left me speechless. It was speechless in a good way as she embraces her inner “Fifty Shades of Grey” and get extremely weird yet sexual.

So as you are aware, Selena released “Fetish” and also a video of her singing the song with a close up of her mouth that is just memorizing. Well, the video for “Fetish” is fucked up to the core and is everything that I didn’t know I wanted from Selena Gomez in this new era.

The video is the sequel to the awesomeness that was “Bad Liar.” It follows Selena Gomez as she returns home and it goes down the rabbit hole and then gets extremely and utterly deep to the point where it will take a couple of times of viewing it to fully grasp the meaning.

The video is about how her attraction to someone, aka the teacher in “Bad Liar,” is blinding her and eventually causes her to become obsessed with her looks and her appearance. This eventually drives her crazy and causes her to drown in sadness, and begin to cause self-harm because of her obsessive behavior. Selena breaks her tongue with an eye curler after she ties her tongue, she also eats soap and makeup before playing in a huge ass freezer. It’s pretty much all about social standards that women have to live up to.

The video is extremely well done and well shot. It continues with the overall 70s feel to it that was present in the first video in the “series.” It’s very different from what you would really expect to see with Selena. We’ve never really seen her take this route with her deep meaning videos. If you look at “Kill Em With Kindness” and “Who Says,” the messages were clearly stated and you didn’t have to dig so deep for the meaning. “Fetish” has a deeper meaning that is present on the surface but easily missed if you aren’t looking for it. Frankly, this is probably her best video to date.

The video for “Fetish” is amazing and stunning. It’s extremely different from what is expected from her and it’s extremely refreshing. It might take you a couple of views to fully grasp what it all means, but it’s well worth it. The video fits the name of the song perfectly.

Single Review: “Fetish” by Selena Gomez

fetish lg

It’s a new day and Selena Gomez has a released a new song that will make you thirsty and confused at the same time. Probably the most inappropriate hashtag that has ever been given to a pop star, the third studio album from her seems to be one that leave us wanting more. If you haven’t done a twitter search for #Fetish, pause this review and comeback once those tweets will be burned in your eyes. I’ll wait.

“Fetish” is the return of Sexlena because this is probably her dirtiest song today where she pretty sings about how you are addicted to her “love.” This isn’t talking about emotion but rather sex. Selena is so good in bed that you will become addicted to it. But like her vagina, this song is addictive. It’s a sexy slow banger that will get stuck in your head for days. Before the song got released, I had the snippet of the chorus that was released in my head. Song feels like something that could have been on her last album “Revival.”  The song made me think of her first single off of “Revival” entitled “Good For You.” It also felt like it was done in the style of The Weeknd. It fit her voice extremely well, especially with her breathy vocals. Selena’s breathy vocals are just everything.

The song features Gucci Mane and if he wasn’t on the song, it would have been way better. He didn’t add anything to song. He was just there and didn’t add anything to the song. Gucci Mane was that friend that you hang out with because he was just there. If there was a solo version like they did with “Good For You” then I’ll be happy. I also wasn’t a huge fan of how the song ended because I thought it needed a little big bigger finish than that. It just seems like the chorus is sung the same like every other the time in the song. A little spice to add to it would have made it an all ready amazing song stand out.

While the video isn’t out yet, Selena released a video that is mesmerizing and extremely sexual all at the same time. It’s just a close up of Selena’s mouth and her singing. She’s also doing flirty things with her lips and tongue throughout it. Only Selena would make a video like this and it be really hot.

“Fetish” isn’t like any Selena Gomez song we have heard before and it’s amazing. It’s addictive lyrics and beat will be stuck in your head all day. While the rap by Gucci Mane doesn’t add to the song, it’s still a sexual banger that will have you be addicted to it for days to comes.

Single Review: “Get Low” by Zedd and Liam Payne

img_0422

Looks like we have another contender for song of the summer. sigh. How many of these songs are we going to as contender for song of the summer? But Liam Payne should have a higher chance to have it since he just released a new song of the summer.

“Get Low” is a dance song released by Zedd and Liam Payne. I like to think of it as “Strip That Down” on steroids. It’s a song that is based on the same premise just feels a little more fleshed out. It’s a sexy club song that helps break Liam away from his boy band image that was practically shredded away in his debut song.

It’s a catchy song with an even catchier beat. The song has a Drake vibe to it, which I’m honestly tired of. Either get Drake to perform your song or go with any other style. The vocals on the song are rather robotic. Sometimes it feels like it goes with the emotion and the sexiness the song is trying to give off but then other times, it just feels like Liam is just singing. It would have been nice to have something that makes his vocals feel different from what we got. Something to spice up it up.

I really hope that the video that’s on YouTube for it isn’t the official video because it isn’t the video that you would expect for something like this. If it’s not, then hopefully it is the video we wanted for “Strip That Down” and just be just one big sexual powerhouse of a video.

“Get Low” is a very good dance song that could really actually be a summer hit, too bad there’s like a million of contenders for it. It could be a little bit better when it comes to vocals but it’s good for what it’s worth.

Top 5ive: Girl’s Generation

girlsgeneration-sm

It was only a matter of time before I would dive into the colorful and delightful world of K-Pop. For those that have been living under the biggest rock in the deepest hole on Earth, K-Pop is Korean pop music that takes what we consider pop music and put it all to shame to where even Madonna would cry if she didn’t get her tear ducts allegedly removed. They also include some English in there which is a nice if you want a slight idea what they are singing about.

Today, I’m just going to go over Queens of K-pop, Girl’s Generation. Also known as SNSD, Girl’s Generation is an eight piece girl group that has pretty taken the world in the palm of their hand. It’s only fitting that I countdown their best and catchy work. Now, unless there is an English version of the song, it won’t be based on lyrics. It’s just going to be on beat and mainstream appeal. So let’s get started.

5. “Run Devil Run”

Originally a demo performed by Kesha, “Run Devil Run” is just a catchy dance song that will make you run with them. There’s even two different version of them in the music video, which is just amazing on its own. Personally, I like the evil version of them over the good.

4. “Gee”

This is just an infectious song that you will have in your head, even if it’s just the English words in the chorus. Turn it on and you will just get a smile on your face because it just that infectious. It’s probably what most people think of when they think of K-Pop. Even the dance moves will make you smile.

3. “Catch Me If You Can”

When a K-Pop girl group impresses the likes of Zedd and Skrillex with their single in EDM, you know you are doing something right. “Catch Me if You Can” is their first full try into the genre and EDM and they smashed it. It catchy and then the music video makes you want to run away with them. The dance break during the chorus is what dreams are made of.

2. “I Got a Boy”

This song is everything! It broke the mold of K-Pop to become their second major hit internationally. It combined different western styles of music and threw them into your face like they have been doing it for years. Then their music video is just a masterpiece and all of the place but yet, brings everything together so well. It probably their best video from a visual standpoint.

1. “The Boys”

It’s the song that brought onto US soil. It’s an extremely catchy song with a music video that just visually appeals to the eyes. Their dance moves on this are pretty much on fleek. Their English was actually rather good for only really two of them speaking it fluently. This song is just iconic. They even did a remix of it with Snoop Dogg.
