Just when I thought that Miley Cyrus wouldn’t make me love her more, she goes and releases a banger, a music video for the banger, and pretty much what to expect from her new album. It’s a wonderful day way to start the day.
“Younger Now” is the first song, and second single, off of her next album that has the same name. It’s a little more different from something that we have heard from Miley. It’s has a more of an alternative feel to it. It’s still pop but not the pop music that we are us used to from her. It’s a welcome changed because her voice still fits it wonderfully. Miley’s voice can pretty much fit any type of genre.
Now, the song itself takes awhile for you to warm up to it. While I’m not trying to start a war, it’s reminds me of Selena Gomez’s “Bad Liar.” It’s something unexpected from her and the more your listened to it, the more you liked it and became a true bop. This is a case for this song. It’s an extremely well-written song but just something that will take a few listens before you start bopping to it in the car.
The music video for this song is pretty much EVERYTHING. There’s subtle hints to all of her past songs in it. I truly didn’t notice it until someone on Twitter started to point it out one and then it was like “OMG I’M WOKE.” It’s really nice to see Miley embracing the past and showing how it helped her get to where she is now. Oh, and the video itself isn’t bad. It has a 50’s style and feel to the outfits and it works with it but then there are moments were you go “I’m a little bit lost.”
The album “Younger Now” is set to be released on September 29 and will feature 10 songs, one of which is a duet with her godmother Dolly Parton. I CANNOT WAIT Y’ALL!

It’s finally time! The day that we have been waiting four long years for is here! Kesha Rose Sebert’s new album is here and boy, it’s been something we’ve been wanting and longing for.
“Rainbow” is the most personal album that Kesha has ever put out. It was very obvious with “Praying” but this album is just one just is just powerful with the majority of the songs being ones of empowerment and follow the theme that was presented in “Praying.” That song was about letting go of past and moving forward with your life. And that’s pretty much what almost every song is about. “Rainbow” is kind of Kesha’s way of getting years of pain, frustration, and suffering out and being feeling free and get it all out. She has stated that this album saved her life and you tell that it’s her pride and joy.
This album is a pop record and is kind of a departure from the music she did when she had a $ in her name. There’s nothing like “Tic Tok,” “Blow,” “Die Young,” or “Take it Off” in the sense where it’s not Electro-pop/Dancepop. It’s more of a pop rock feel to all the songs. It’s more noticeable on songs like “Woman,” “Let ‘Em Talk,” “Boots,” and “Boogie Feet.” Those songs feel like a nice blend of Kesha and Ke$ha. It’s even more apparent in “Godzilla,” where she talks about taking him to the mall and meeting her parents, and “Spaceship,” a song about leaving on a spaceship to follow her dreams. Kesha wrote previously wrote a song called “Gold Trans Am,” which is about her vagina. Yeah, Kesha is back.
The album showcases Kesha voice like we have never heard it before. Her vocals are everything on all the songs. The vocals really shine on “Praying” and a cover of “Old Flames Can’t Hold a Candle to You.” The cover is a song that her mother wrote and Kesha actually sang the song with Dolly Parton on Rainbow. Those two just slay the song even more than the original. The lyrics on the songs are also extremely strong with metaphors. All the lyrics are deep and meaningful. The lyrics tell a story and it’s rather refreshing.
“Rainbow” is an album that everyone should listen to. If you didn’t like her music before this, give this album a chance because it’s pretty much a brand new Kesha. It’s the best album that I’ve heard so far this year, and probably Kesha’s best album ever. It’s everything.

If you thought that Kesha was slaying the world with “Praying,” you haven’t seen anything yet because the song we’ve been waiting for weeks. It was leaked then hidden from the world but now it’s here!
“Woman” is Kesha’s return to the pop music style that made her famous. “Woman” is an empowering bop that is just pure pop music. The lyrics are catchy af and the beat is just something that really makes you want to dance. It’s well extremely well produced. You can tell that a lot of time, energy, and thought went into this song and video. It’s definitely something Kesha would release.
The addition of the Dap-Kings Horns really helps take the song to another level. Like the horns just blends in so well with the style of the song and genre. Especially when it kicks into the chorus and Kesha sings “I’m a motherfucking woman.” That just really makes you want to raise your fist in the air and going “damn right” whether you’re a woman or not. I really wish there was more with the horns because they just made the song even better than it originally was.
The music video is just Kesha performing at a bar with her band and the Dap-Kings Horns. It’s an extremely simple concept but it just works for this song. Kesha looks like she’s just having fun and it really nice to see because when you are having fun with your work, it really shows. It definitely helped with this music video, I missed his Kesha. While Ke$ha will always have a special place in my heart, this version of her is the best.
While “Woman” isn’t as amazing as “Praying,” it’s definitely a classic Kesha song that will make you get up and dance. The addition of the horns makes this song something to remember. The music video even makes the song great!

I’m going to try to remain neutral but Kesha is back and pretty much slayed the universe all in one day. Kesha released a new song and gave a release date for her album all in one day.
“Praying” is Kesha’s first single in four years, not including her song with Zedd, and is off her new album “Rainbow.” It’s an extremely powerful song. When I was listening to it, it reminded me of Demi Lovato’s “Skyscraper” as they both have the similar themes to them.
Kesha released an essay about the song and stated that ” This song is about coming to feel empathy for someone else even if they hurt you or scare you. It’s a song about learning to be proud of the person you are even during low moments when you feel alone. It’s also about hoping everyone, even someone who hurt you, can heal. I hope this song reaches people who are in the midst of struggles, to let them know that no matter how bad it seems now, you can get through it. If you have love and truth on your side, you will never be defeated. Don’t give up on yourself.” It’s a powerful song that you can feel the emotion coming off of the song as it goes along.
The arrangement of the song is just amazing and just flows so well with the vocals that Kesha is giving to the song. There’s just so much raw emotion in the song. Everything was done in a way to provoke that emotion and it all works. Nothing is wrong with this song. There’s nothing to nitpick because it’s just everything right.
The music video for “Praying” is more powerful that just the song itself. It starts off with Kesha saying a monologue and looking like she died. It starts out to be like the usually Kesha music video we came to know and love before her legal battle started. But it just her going from depressed and feeling alone to overcoming everything. During her process of overcoming, the video moves from black & white to more colorful. The video pretty much is the transition from Ke$ha to Kesha. While Ke$ha is still a part of her, I can all ready tell that we are going to see more of the person that is behind the glitter and dinosaurs.
“Praying” is an amazing song that really shows off the kind of artist that Kesha is. Her vocals on the song are amazing and the video is powerful. You can’t hate the song, even if you aren’t a fan. I also recommend playing this song with “True Colors” because then it just an emotional rollercoaster.
