Marvel is just the gift that keeps on giving when it comes to movie trailers. They decided to grace us with the trailer for “Thor: Ragnarok.” And did it really kind of make the Thor franchise seem more interesting than it has before.
“Thor: Ragnarok” takes place after the events of “Avengers: Age of Ultron” and see Thor being held against his will by Sakaar. His hammer was destroyed and his home of Asgard is under attack. In order to protect his home, he must survive and defeat this friend, The Incredible Hulk. Dun duh dun.
The trailer was decently good. It wasn’t as great as some of the other superhero movie trailers we’ve seen so far but it didn’t really need to. It still was able to show what the plot is and grab people’s attention without being mind-blowing. It really grabbed my interested as soon as they showed Hela, the villain in the movie, destroying Thor’s hammer. It was like “Damn, what’s Thor going to do without that hammer?”
While I understand the haircut, it looks less like Thor and more like Chris Hemsworth pretending to be Thor. Right now, the illusion of who is playing Thor is showing and it’s not a bad change but one just kinda like “eh?” We already knew about the change so it’s nothing surprising but it’s just strange to see Thor without his hair of gold – like his mother. I’m rather interested to see how it gets all tied into the whole store because he doesn’t start off with the haircut.
This also looks like a Thor movie that I want to see. The ones before it didn’t really seem that appealing. This one just seems different and like something we haven’t seen before. I welcome that because it’s sad to see a superhero get overshadowed by others. Thor has always seemed like the Aquaman of the Marvel universe. The only thing that has me worried is a number of crossovers the Marvel universe has been doing lately. They have Iron Man showing up in
They have Iron Man showing up in “Spider-Man Homecoming” and now you have The Incredible Hulk in this movie. It seems like they have this plan for movies franchise that is slightly struggling. The plan is to throw popular characters in the movie in order to get tickets and box office sales up. Before I comment on these plans, I will wait to see the movies and how much the characters influence the movie.
“Thor: Ragnarok” is scheduled to come out the same time as all the over superhero movies – in November. So you know this movie will be the sleeper hit.
